1969 BRONCO UNCUT U15 (restored)
1969 FOMOCO U15 UTILITY
WE JUST FINISHED A COSMETIC UPGRADE ON A BEAUTIFUL AND UNCUT LITTLE 69 BRONK. THE BRONCO CAME TO US FROM A LOCAL GENTLEMAN IN EUGENE OREGON WHERE IT HAS BEEN STORED FOR YEARS AND YEARS. FROM THE REGISTRATIONS THERE HAVE BEEN THREE OWNERS.FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES THIS IS AN UNRESTORED FORD BRONCO.
WHEN WE GOT THGE BRONCO WE INSTALLED NEW PLUGS,K&N FILTER, BATTERY, CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTERS AND GENERAL TUNE UP. IT RUNS VERY VERY WELL. STARTS FIRST LICK AND RUNS SMOOTHLY AND QUIETLY. THE CARB IS A REBUILT 2100 2 V AND THE CHOKE IS FACTORY MANUAL. WE ADDED A LITTLE GEAR OIL TO THE FACTORY GEAR REDUCED STEERING GEARBOX, AND AWAY WE WENT. THE BRONCO HANDLES VERY WELL, STEERS STRAIGHT WITH NO WANDER, AND STOPS AS DESIGNED. RECEIPTS SHOW NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE WORK AT A LOCAL LES SCHWAB TIRE CENTER AT 75,000.MILES THERE ARE NO WHEEL CYLINDER LEAKS OR PROBLEMS THUS FAR. THE ELECTRICAL IS AWESOME AND THE TACH, AM-FM-8 TRACK WORK AND ALL LIGHTING WORKS. WE INSTALLED NEW 235-75R15 FEDERAL COURAGIA MUD TERRAIN TIRES ON EXCELLENT F-150 WHEELS.SINCE IT'S GEARED AT 3.50:1 THE BRONCO HAS NO TROUBLE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. THE EXHAUST IS RECENT AND THE E BRAKE WORKS AS DESIGNED. THERE'S NOTHING UNDERNEATH THAT'S TWISTED, SCABBED, OR SCREWED UP AS IT'S BASICALLY UNMOLESTED. THE BODY WAS EXCELLENT. WHEN IT WAS PAINTED THE HARD TOP WAS REMOVED AND THE BODY SIDE MOLDING REMOVED WITH THE GRILL ASSEMBLY, HEADLIGHT BUCKETS ,AND TAILGATE PARTS, ETC. IT HAS ORIGINAL DASH PAINT ,STEERING WHEEL, AND DASH PAD AS FAR AS WE KNOW. WE INSTALLED A NEW WINDSHIELD, GASKET, DOOR AND BODY WEATHERSTRIPS, SEATS, LOCKING CENTER CONSOLE, CARPET AND INSULATION. RUST REPAIR WA S LIMITED TO ROCKERS, KICK PANELS AND INNER FENDERS AT THE REAR FIREWALL AREA. THE ENGINE BAY IS ORIGINAL METAL AS IS THE HOOD. THE HOOD INSIDE WAS NOT PAINTED...PRETTY NICE !
THIS U15 IS A FACTORY BULKHEAD BENCH SEAT BRONCO. WE RE-UPHOLSTERED THE FACTORY BENCH AND IT LOOKS AWESOME BUT IS ACTUALLY LESS COMFY THAN THE BUCKETS. IF THE NEW BUYER PREFERS WE CAN RE-INSTALL THE FACTORY BENCH IN LIEU OF THE BUCKETS AND CENTER CONSOLE. THE ROLL CAGE IS A FOUR POINT AND WE RE-USED THE EXCELLENT FACTORY LAP BELTS. THE HEADLINER IS COMPLETE BUT IN NEED OF SPRUCING UP A BIT. THE FACTORY WIPER MOTORS WORK WELL OFF THE MANIFOLD VACUUM WITHOUT THE USE OF A VACUUM PUMP.
ALL IN ALL THIS IS A RELATIVE TIME CAPSULE THAT IS PAINTED FACTORY "CANDY APPLE RED" AND JUST AS IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH THE BODY SIDE MOLDING, BULKHEAD, AND 302 2V THREE ON THE TREE. LEAKS AT THE PAN BUT WE HAVEN'T EXPLORED FROM WHERE. PROBABLY THE REAR MAIN FROM SITTING SO MANY YEARS. IT SEEMS TO RUN EXCEPTIONALLY WELL.
